It is a great pleasure to write to you about Men Abiding in Christ Ministries and Pat McPherson. I first met Pat while on a high school ski trip with Marietta First Presbyterian Church. There was something about his character that stuck with me. He was refreshingly different. Then, about four years ago my wife Shelli and I joined Marietta First Presbyterian Church, and I began bumping into Pat. We reintroduced ourselves and have since become good friends.
Pat’s ministry has made a huge impact on my life in many ways. Pat invited me on a Men’s retreat that he planned with our church, and for the first time I really focused on my spiritual journey thus far and where I wanted to be in the future. Two years later I found myself struggling to be the man I needed to be for my wife and my two sons. It just happened to be about the same time that Pat and I started meeting to discuss MAC Ministries. Pat became my accountability partner and we began meeting weekly. What a difference it has made in my life! Pat took a lot of time to get to know me, to listen to me, and then to spend time in God’s word and in prayer regarding my many struggles and failures. I have a much clearer focus on who I am and how I can serve God and my family.
I believe that there are many men that need help and encouragement in living a full life focused on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As leaders in our family, church, workplace and community it is crucial for a men’s ministry like this one to exist. One sinful man abiding in Christ can make a huge impact in the lives of many.
Thank you Pat and Bridgett for being obedient to the call of God’s will in your life and launching this ministry. For me it has made all the difference in the world.
